Greenpeace Australia and Adbusters Magazine made the activist campaign site CokeSpotlight in order to attack the soda giant, Coca-Cola. Here's the problem: Coca-Cola was a major sponsor of the Olympic Games in Sydney. A mandate of the Sydney Olympics was that they were the "Green Olympics" and they disallowed vending machines that used HFCs for refrigeration, but, for some reason, Coke had many vending machines that used those very HFCs. CokeSpotlight provided information on this problem, and why it is a problem, as well as "culture-jamming" downloads. The victory? CokeSpotlight won. Within a day of launching the site, Coca-Cola issued a press release detailing their practices of finding better refrigeration and before the Games began, Coca-Cola also stated that by the next Games they would not use HFCs!
