I Love Alaska

Today, my friend Val posted about interesting search terms that brought them to her blog, including “art therapy rain cloud.”

Unfortunately, there aren’t really any good search terms bringing people to my blog – the most exciting are probably “shipping container mall puebla mexico” and “porta garrafon.” Though, if I include the last two years, and don’t limit myself to just the period since converting the website to the blog, I get:

  • who wears the pants in the relationship?
  • all secret high dating relationship in dubai +friends
  • is bernard rubb married?
  • ryan schweitzer arrested
  • sacred wedding piano flute duet ideas
  • tantra ritual bern
  • www.poppa new pants. com

Definitely a lot more interesting.

But, that’s not really why I’m writing. Sorry, I got carried away.

What I really wanted to say was that Val’s post reminded me of a web series called I Love Alaska. In 2006, AOL accidentally published, online, three months of search histories of 650,000 of their users. One of the users has a very interesting way of phrasing search terms, and the three months of her searches tells quite the tale. Sander Plug and Lernert Engelberts turned her search terms into this riveting set of short films.

For those of you who don’t feel like clicking through to the full set of films, I’ve included the first episode below.

Thanks for reminding me of this great series, Val!
